This 95-room hotel in Mountain Village, at the base of Telluride, changed ownership and was rechristened the Hotel Madeline in early 2011. It now has a new restaurant, Rev, that serves only produce and meat sourced from farms located within a 100-mile radius and seafood from sustainable fisheries. On the menu: hearty dishes like cherrywood-smoked king salmon wrapped in bacon and Colorado Angus rib eye. At the on-site spa, treatments are tailored to help travelers adjust to the high altitude (9,545 feet). Rooms are equally relaxing, with leather armchairs, plush beds, and soaking tubs, all made to soothe slope-weary muscles.
