Eleftheroudakis

An entire floor of the eight-story flagship bookstore of the publishing giant Eleftheroudakis is devoted to travel books on Greece; another one is exclusively for crime fiction (in Greek, English, Spanish, and Italian)—just the thing for beach reading. The air-conditioned, top-floor café is rife with free city magazines in English and has free wireless Internet. This behemoth is just past Attica, a massive department store that anchors the high-end Citylink shop, restaurant, and pedestrian-square complex next to the Grande Bretagne. Eleftheroudakis is open all day (as is Attica), even during the afternoon “quiet hours” when smaller boutiques close.
