Mathias Dahlgren
Grand Hôtel
Stockholm, 103 27, Sweden
Named after one of Sweden's top chefs, the Mathias Dahlgren restaurant is located inside the 19th-century Grand Hôtel, which overlooks Riddarfjärden bay. The restaurant is divided into two distinct venues: the Michelin one-starred Matbaren and the two-starred Matsalen. The Matbaren is more casual, with natural wood accents and an open kitchen, while the Matsalen is decidedly upscale, with velvet furniture, parquet flooring, and a chandelier designed by Carlo Scarpa. Menu options range from the Matbaren's home-style dishes, such as smoked reindeer with whitefish roe, to the Matsalen's more refined entrées like pork cheeks with sausage, artichokes, and black trumpet mushrooms.
Insider Tip:
After dinner, head to the hotel's Cadier Bar for handcrafted cocktails and live piano music (Thursday through Saturday only).
