Loka Brunn

Off Hwy. 205 (Lokavägen)
Grythyttan, 71294, Sweden
TEL: 46-591-63100

The Loka Brunn hotel is located in a restorative landscape of forest, lakes, and purported healing waters. The hotel is comprised of 54 buildings built between the 1700s and 1900s, including the 1913 Great Society Restaurant, which serves Swedish cuisine such as deer with mushrooms or baked perch with trout roe. Each of the 154 rooms has unique decor and history; The King Building, for instance, was formerly owned by Gustav III and has blond wood floors, 18th-century furniture, and blue-patterned wallpaper. The spa offers a gym, whirlpool, floating sauna, and the popular pine-needle oil mudpack treatment.

Room to Book:

Rent the entire brown-shingled, white-framed Villa Von Essen; it was built in 1905 and can accomodate six guests.

Insider Tip:

Visit the nearby Loka Brunn church, built between 1822 and 1824. The church gives access to the healing waters of Nybrunnen in the summer.
