Hotel Rival
Adjoining the Mariatorget Square, Hotel Rival is designed as a 1930s Art Deco cinema. The 700 seat theater hosts fashion shows, concerts, and film screeings; recent concerts include Elvis Costello and Henry Rollins. The bistro contains plush orange booths, yellow walls, and photos of stars, while the lounge serves housemade breads, pastries, and Swedish dishes in a more sedate decor. The 99 rooms are done with solid colors of blue, green, yellow, or gray and black and white shots from classic Swedish films hang over the beds. Old Town is just a five minute walk away.
