One of the more affordable hotels in St.-Tropez, “Le Sube” is situated directly on the Vieux Port above the Café de Paris. The exterior is typical of Provençal by-the-sea architecture, with smooth stucco walls, wooden shutters, and metal balustrades. Inside, the public spaces are decorated with model sailboats and nautical paintings, while the 28 guest rooms are decidedly no-frills, with tiled floors, mostly bare walls, and large windows overlooking either the marina or a quiet inner courtyard. The popular Bar du Sube serves cocktails and snacks on an open-air balcony, which has one of the best harbor views in town.
Room to Book:
Although the rooms overlooking the marina are more expensive, the panoramic views of the bright-blue water and multimillion-dollar yachts make them well worth the extra cost.
The bar does not accept reservations for the balcony seats, so be sure to arrive early, especially if you want to watch the sunset.
