Oyster Bay Beach Resort

This condo resort and timeshare complex sprawls along the tip of a narrow sandy peninsula between the ocean and Oyster Pond marina, a peaceful spot on the eastern edge of Dutch St. Maarten (the far side of the marina is actually across the border on the island’s French side, known as St. Martin). Perhaps because much of the resort operates as a timeshare, the Caribbean-colored accommodations have a comfy feel and houselike amenities (including kitchenettes), and all but 12 of the 190 units are lofts, studios, or suites. The best meals are at Beau Beau’s beach bar for lunch and dinner at Infinity Restaurant by the pool overlooking the ocean.
