Vineyard 7 & 8

At an elevation higher than most other wineries on Spring Mountain, this family-owned estate opened its facility to visitors in 2008. Proprietors Launny and Weezie Steffans wanted to showcase the terroir of the surrounding Spring Mountain District, and thus have a focused 1,800-case production utilizing only Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Modern in design, the grounds are laid with a Japanese rock garden, caves, and a slate-stone building with a minimalist interior evocative of Launny’s years spent in Asia. Guests can taste the wines by appointment only in the large tasting salon with 180-degree views of neighboring Mt. St. Helena.
