Chef Barbara Lynch, the celebrated owner of No. 9 Park and B&G Oysters, continues to impress patrons with this contemporary twist on a traditional diner. Italian for “counter service,” Sportello is set in the Fort Point neighborhood and has a bright, bustling atmosphere with white wraparound counters, a few simple tables, and an open kitchen. Beneath large globe lights, visitors savor authentic Italian dishes such as spicy tomato soup followed by homemade tagliatelle Bolognese. Afterward, patrons can pick up a banana and Nutella cupcake from Sportello’s bakery section or head downstairs for cocktails at Drink, also owned by Lynch.
