Housed in a former dance hall, this small brewery is located in Guerneville, about two hours north of San Francisco. The company makes just a few beers at a time, with options ranging from the flagship Rat Bastard Pale Ale to the summery Bushwacker Wheat Beer, flavored with citrus and coriander. Although not provided on a regular basis, tours of the production room might be available if Pete the brewer is on-site (and not too busy). The accompanying restaurant is pure roadhouse, with thick wood tables, a menu of house-smoked barbecue, and a large patio overlooking the adjacent Russian River.
The brewery is just a 10-minute drive from the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, making it a great place for dinner and drinks after a long day of hiking.
