Housed in a former bank in Union Square, this community-minded café is known for its well-crafted Intelligentsia coffee drinks, gourmet soups and sandwiches, and environmentally friendly practices, which include recycling. The interior has a modern industrial vibe with exposed brick, a metal ceiling, pale wood furniture, and a rotating collection of contemporary art. Seating is also available inside the old bank vaults and outside in the courtyard, which provides great people-watching.
