Soho/Covent Garden
Ida
London, England, W10 4DT, United Kingdom
Situated in Queens Park, this small Italian trattoria is known for its authentic hand-rolled pastas. The restaurant is run by husband-and-wife team Avi and Simonetta Reichenbach, both of whom have Italian roots. Inside, the tiny space is designed with candlelit, white-clothed tables, lace-trimmed curtains, a bustling open kitchen, and pale yellow walls covered with a hodgepodge of colorful paintings. The affordable wine list is short but well chosen, while the ever-changing menu may include dishes like homemade tagliatelle with traditional ragù (meat and tomato sauce) and fresh sea bream cooked in a butter, orange, and marjoram sauce.
Insider Tip:
Ida’s Saturday cooking classes are well worth the price; informative and well organized, the courses include complimentary coffee, a glass of wine, and of course, the final product: hand-made pasta.
