Travelers with a minimum five-hour layover can journey into the city on one of two free stopover tours. The Colonial Excursion retraces Singapore’s storied past via a walk along the landmark-rimmed Singapore River. Or, explore the city’s colorful ethnic neighborhoods—Chinatown, Katong (the Peranakan district), and Kampong Glam (the Islamic quarter)—on the two-hour Cultural Tour. Tours are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your passport and boarding pass to one of two sign-up desks from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No reservations required.
