Shanghai
Mansion Hotel
This boutique five-star hotel is a blend of Asian and French architecture in the style of Old Shanghai. Designed by a French architect in 1932, it was originally a clubhouse for gang boss Du Yue-Sheng; the outside is guarded by a tall, ornate gate. The lobby sets the tone for the rest of the hotel with warm tones and vintage decorations. The 30 guest rooms contain king beds, marble countertops, Jacuzzi baths, and Japanese-style toilet/bidet combinations. Dining options include a rooftop lounge and restaurant with a view of the French Concession District.

The Balcony King suite provides a private space to overlook Xin Le Road and the city views.
