Located just off Huaihai Road, this historic hotel is perhaps best known as the site where former President Nixon and Zhou Enlai signed the Shanghai Communiqué in 1972. Having hosted more than 400 political VIP’s since its 1929 opening, the hotel continues to house high-profile guests in its three buildings: Cathay Building, Cathay Garden, and Grosvenor House. Most of the 434 guest rooms have classic, neutral-toned furniture and views of the hotel garden, and Grosvenor House rooms also include kitchens and private balconies.
