Iron Horse Ranch & Vineyards

A bit off the beaten path but worth the detour, this boutique family-owned winery west of Sonoma (it’s about 40 minutes from downtown by car) offers some of the best sparkling wines in California. The “tasting room” is actually an outdoor bar overlooking the property’s 300 acres of vines—a fitting spot for sampling Iron Horse’s deliciously effervescent Bruts, Blanc de Blancs, and Blanc de Noirs (the Wedding Cuvée is a standout).
