Now a six-location, mini-chain, the original Zoka Coffee Roaster & Tea House was founded by owner Jeff Babcock in 1996. Today, the Greenlake outpost of Zoka is always filled with patrons lingering over the artisan-roasted coffee, using the free wireless Internet, or studying at wooden tables. Floor-to-ceiling windows brighten the loft-like space, where customers come to enjoy small-batch coffees, hand-sourced teas, and locally produced baked goods, including everything from muffins and scones to coconut cream pie. Owning its own roasting facility enables Zoka to brew its Joe from beans roasted within the past 24 hours.
