MOHAI, as it's known by locals, is not just the city's most comprehensive history museum, it's a salute to the tech-heavy roots of Seattle. Interactive exhibits explore indigenous and early city history, and the upper floor of the converted armory has a periscope that looks out to the picturesque Lake Union. Look out for out-of-the-box exhibits devoted to Seattle hip-hop and its culinary history, as well as special programs for kids. Then stop in the museum cafe for an espresso and views of the historical ships docked outside.
