Pike Street Fish Fry
Pike Street Fish Fry, a tiny restaurant in Seattle's artsy Capitol Hill neighborhood is a no-frills fresh fish shack with a foodie's touch. The mostly stand-and-eat place—if you're lucky, you can score one of the wooden tables—serves English-style fish and chips wrapped in newspaper along with a few "fancier" dishes like mackerel, buttered halibut, or grilled octopus. Chef Monica Dimas has gained particular reknown for her French fries, which are soaked, sliced, and blanched by hand, then fried crispy and served in a paper cone.
