"Cupcakeries" have been popping up in cities and towns across America, but Cupcake Royale is one of Seattle's most popular dessert shops. Decadent confections like chocolate coconut bunny and the buttercream-rich peppermint party, carry a glow of virtue, too, having been crafted from locally sourced flour and fruit, cage-free eggs, and organic sugar. A new, limited-time-only cupcake debuts monthly. As with its other four shops, the Ballard location of Cupcake Royale is roomies with Verité Coffee, which serves up locally roasted, fair-trade Joe.
