Boulders Resort & Spa
Located in the tiny, artsy village of Carefree, just past the northern edge of North Scottsdale, the 1,300-acre Boulders golf and spa resort, gets its name from a massive prehistoric rock formation where nature lovers can spot quail, jackrabbits, lizards, and javelina. The lobby has the rugged yet refined look of a lodge, a theme evident in the property’s casitas and suites. Each has stone floors, wood-beamed ceilings, stucco fireplaces, Navajo print rugs, and both cowhide and leather furniture. Choose a Sonoran casita for views or the Boulders casitas for more privacy. Along with miles of hiking trails, there are two 18-hole golf courses, eight tennis courts, and four swimming pools. The menu of services in the 33,000 square foot spa is a global feast. Choose from the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Ayurvedic massage, meditation tipi, and treatments inspired by desert botanicals and Native American traditions.
