Savannah College of Art and Design is a private school dedicated to creative majors, and ShopSCAD is one of the many places in Savannah selling the artwork and accessories of SCAD students and staff from past and present. Original creations for purchase include paintings, photography, and sculptures, as well as jewelry, handbags, and clothing, and 50 percent of the retail cost is split between the shop and the artist. The ShopSCAD director chooses work that stands out from the thousands of submissions received each year, and displays new items daily.
Have lunch or an early dinner across the street at another SCAD-run establishment, Gryphon, which overlooks the square where scenes from Forest Gump were filmed.
