Things to do in Santorini

The beach towns of Perissa and Kamari feature beaches with black sand, which can be quite hot to step on! There are also diving centers, should you decide to explore deeper waters when you travel to Santorini. The black sand beaches are near many of the Santorini restaurants and hotels. If you take the bus to see the ruins of Akrotiri, you will also see the red sand beach. Nea Kameni Island is also another place to go, as it is located in the middle of the caldera and is one of the most violent volcanoes on the planet. Not to worry—it hasn't erupted in almost four thousand years! You can tour the volcano by boat or walk around the crater for a closer look.
