Things to do in Santorini

Santorini’s main draw may be its majestic landscape, cubic-white washed architecture, multi-colored sunsets and sweeping views of the Aegean Sea. That said, there are plenty of things to do in Santorini, including exploring the island’s two central towns, Fira and Oia. Make sure that you also wander through the countryside that surrounds each town, where you’ll find local vineyards, gardens, family businesses and restaurants, churches and ruins.

Travelers looking for things to do in Santorini shouldn’t pass up the chance to spend a day at one of the island’s numerous beaches, which range from secluded remote destinations, to packed, crowded areas adjacent to bars, clubs and restaurants. While on the beach, consider partaking in some of the island’s activities, such as scuba diving and snorkeling. Santorini is also well known for its numerous nude beaches, including Vlychadda. Even on non-nude beaches, it is not uncommon for women to sunbathe topless.

Finally, for those wondering what to do in Santorini, make sure to tour at least one of the local, well-regarded wineries, which dot the island and offer generous tastings. Don’t miss a visit to Santo Wines, which offers guided tours and is best known for its sparkling wines.
