Factory workers hand-roll some of the world’s finest cigars at this two-level store on Calle el Conde, one of the major shopping streets in the Zona Colonial (Colonial Zone). One or two cigar makers roll moist tobacco leaves in the shop’s front window, while another 45 employees continue the work upstairs. The store specializes in Cohiba cigars, one of the most popular Dominican brands, although the inventory also includes other options like Montecristos and Caobas. The cigars are packed in handmade boxes, stored in the on-site humidor, and sold either individually or by the box. Free samples are usually available.
