Las Hadas Golf Resort and Marina
One unique hotel dominates the Manzanillo, Mexico landscape: the whitewashed, Arabian-inspired towers of Las Hadas Golf Resort & Marina, set on a half-mile stretch of private beach. Bolivian tin tycoon Antenor Patiño conceived of the complex as a glitterati destination in the 1970’s, but today the vibe is more low-key seaside retreat than a see-and-be-seen hotspot. Patterned cobblestone paths meander around Moorish-style arches and cupolas and lead straight to the marina, powdery beach, and the 232 white-on-white rooms and suites, all with marble floors. But you’ll want to head straight for the cabanas alongside the swimming pool or to the Pete and Roy Dye-designed Mantarraya Golf Course, for a round of golf with unobstructed views of Manzanillo Bay.
Room to Book:
Brisas Beach Club rooms come with private plunge pools or terraces with views of Santiago Bay.
Insider Tip:
Manzanillo is known for a peculiar optical illusion referred to as the green flash, when a verdant spot appears briefly on the rising or setting sun. The show is best on days with clear visibility.
