This winery’s Mission-style visitors’ center (dominated by an adobe bell tower that rings on the hour) is a lovely place to while away an early afternoon. The expansive slate patio looks out over fields of Merlot and Syrah vines (they belong to Wild Oak Vineyards, one of four the winery sources from); inside is a long, wooden tasting bar where servers pour generously from a collection of Cabernets, Chardonnays, and Zins. A highlight here are the daily food-and-wine pairing events offered by chef David Bush, during which you might sample a grilled loin of lamb in minted au jus paired with one of Wild Oak’s Cabernet Sauvignons.
