Despite its infamously strict dining policies (no substitutions, no subtractions, and no ketchup, to name a few), this lively gastropub still manages to draw crowds with its two specialties: a rotating selection of 36 craft beers, and the signature Office Burger, often named the best burger in Los Angeles. Reinvented by chef Sang Yoon in 2000, the restaurant is small and basic, containing little more than polished wood tables and chalkboard menus. The focus is on the beer and the burger, which is topped with caramelized onions, Gruyère and Maytag cheeses, applewood-smoked bacon compote, and arugula.
Insider Tip:
Seating is first come, first served, and huge crowds are the norm, so arrive before the restaurant opens if you want to avoid a long wait.
