Santa Fe has a notable lack of chain stores, but the downtown retail scene is still thriving. It’s full of unique, locally owned boutiques and many Western shops. This is the place to buy Native American jewelry, silver, leather goods, tiny carved animal totems, and fancy cowboy boots. Most of the good shopping is downtown, but there are a few notable stores in the nearby DeVargas Center mall.
