Hotel Chimayó, just one block from Santa Fe’s historic plaza, draws its inspiration from the tiny 17th-century New Mexican town of Chimayó, located 30 minutes north of hotel. There, in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, artisans create the traditional woven blankets, bronze sculptures, and pueblo pottery on display throughout the 56-room hotel, where natural wood and muted browns serve as a backdrop for the traditional art and, in some rooms, kiva fireplaces. A bonus: To honor its mission to support Santa Fe’s cultural causes, Hotel Chimayó contributes a small portion of its revenue to organizations that support local children in need.
