Known for its fresh, high-quality baked goods and inventive breakfast dishes, D’Angelo is situated on a side street near downtown Santa Barbara, not far from the 1902 train station. The shop’s interior is furnished with simple wooden tables beside a wall of windows, and seating is also available outside beneath an aqua-colored awning. Counters and cases are packed with just-baked treats that may include cream cheese Danishes, raisin rye, chocolate croissants, and currant scones. Customers can take their baked goods to go, but many stay for D’Angelo’s signature breakfast dish, Eggs Rose: poached eggs on Kalamata sourdough with artichoke spread.
Arriving early is a must here, as the shop sells out of breads and pastries (especially croissants) very quickly.
