Built in 2008, this resort made a splash when it opened on one of Central America’s emerging destinations, Ambergris Caye, in Belize. Located just over three miles from the island town of San Pedro, the four-acre white-on-white property is far enough to be a secluded getaway, yet close enough that bikini-clad vacationers can hear the reggae wafting from nearby beach bars. Comprising 39 one-, two-, and three-bedroom town houses (each with a full kitchen, washer, and dryer), accommodations are well suited to both couples and families. Adventure types opt for diving excursions in the Northern Hemisphere’s largest coral reef, while foodies in search of island barbecue head straight to San Pedro by way of golf carts. When all else fails, there’s always an afternoon by the pool in the shade of a palapa umbrella with a rum punch in hand.
