The food scene in San Diego has always been heavily influenced by its southern neighbor of Mexico. But restaurants in San Diego have come a long way in recent years. Little Italy is perhaps the best example of just how far San Diego has come: The neighborhood has some of the city’s best Italian, French, seafood, and farm-to-table restaurants in town, as well as two of Top Chef All Star Richard Blais’s restaurants. If you’d prefer a taste of France's countryside, head to Bleu Bohème in San Diego’s Kensington neighborhood. For traditional Italian dishes, you can’t beat the veal scaloppini from Piatti in La Jolla. And if you’re looking to try a little bit of everything, Liberty Public Market is a 25,000-square-foot gastro-emporium that opened earlier this year and purveys food and goods from 30 local artisans and chefs. Take a look at our guide for the best restaurants in San Diego.
