Swinging London-inspired space

Situated on a pastoral hill at Carmel Valley’s Grand Del Mar Resort, Addison has the unassuming stone entrance of a rural Tuscan mansion. Inside, the elegant décor features marble columns, gold leaf accents, sumptuous carpets, and gleamig chandeliers.

A meal at El Agave Tequileria is more about the thousands of fine sipping tequilas, although the Nouvelle Mexican cuisine provides a complementary range of new and ancient Hispanic dishes. The restaurant’s Old Town address and downstairs liquor store do not portend the old Spanish interior.

Known for its farm-to-table California cuisine, this full-service restaurant is housed inside the San Diego 

Old-school chophouse. An aging collection of horse-racing paraphernalia adorns this 1950s-era restaurant, where you can cook your own steak and garlic bread on the dining room's self-service grill.

Jsix is a restaurant and bar inside the East Village’s contemporary Hotel Solamar. Situated near Petco Park, the convention center, and the Gaslamp District, Jsix is a bustling gathering place full of urban touches like stone walls, metal grillwork, and an illuminated bar.

Bunker Hill Street ends at Mission Bay Drive, right at the entrance to the original Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill. Within this red, yellow, and blue building, Ralph Rubio began selling his now-famous fish tacos after an inspiring meal at a San Felipe, Mexico street food vendor.

Part of the Landry’s restaurant chain, Oceanaire Seafood Room is one of the city’s classic seafood houses. The restaurant is known for fresh and sustainable foods from the sea in both raw and traditional Euro-American cooking methods.

Adjacent to the La Jolla Playhouse, Jai (pronounced jay) is a Wolfgang Puck chain restaurant open only on performance nights and for special events. The modern glass-and-light exterior gives Jai a chic vibe.

Café Chloe is a French bistro and coffee-tea house in the East Village. The outside is marked by large awnings and outdoor terrasse.
