The multilevel lounge serves Southeast Asian fare.
Located in downtown’s Little Italy district, Indigo Grill has a dull entrance, but the dark distressed wood floor and a yellow stone-covered exhibition kitchen give this industrial interior space charm and warmth. The menu is mostly Southwestern cuisine with Italian influences.
Sultry So-Cal dining room
The Australian restaurant and bar opened in the Fall of 2006.
El Cuervo is a popular mom-and-pop taco shop in an aging Hillcrest strip mall. The red tile roof and neon sign outside signal the casual interior with heavy wooden tables and chairs and a blue-and-white tiled kitchen.
Swinging London-inspired space
Situated on a pastoral hill at Carmel Valley’s Grand Del Mar Resort, Addison has the unassuming stone entrance of a rural Tuscan mansion. Inside, the elegant décor features marble columns, gold leaf accents, sumptuous carpets, and gleamig chandeliers.
A meal at El Agave Tequileria is more about the thousands of fine sipping tequilas, although the Nouvelle Mexican cuisine provides a complementary range of new and ancient Hispanic dishes. The restaurant’s Old Town address and downstairs liquor store do not portend the old Spanish interior.
Urbane Banker's hill meeting place
Known for its farm-to-table California cuisine, this full-service restaurant is housed inside the San Diego
Old-school chophouse. An aging collection of horse-racing paraphernalia adorns this 1950s-era restaurant, where you can cook your own steak and garlic bread on the dining room's self-service grill.
Jsix is a restaurant and bar inside the East Village’s contemporary Hotel Solamar. Situated near Petco Park, the convention center, and the Gaslamp District, Jsix is a bustling gathering place full of urban touches like stone walls, metal grillwork, and an illuminated bar.
