Whenever you need a dose of sunshine and a breath of salt air, you can count on San Diego, the California coastal city with eternally perfect weather. San Diego is for people who can’t take the hard glitter of Los Angeles and who don’t want to suffer the chilly fog in San Francisco. As Southern California’s other metropolis, San Diego travel offers the same opportunity for surfing and sun tanning, but with thirty percent fewer people on the beach. Add to that the plethora of golf courses, museums, SeaWorld and quaint Old Town, and you’ve got endless options for your perfect getaway. Family-friendly vacations will take advantage of Legoland and the San Diego Zoo while those looking for a romantic holiday can indulge in the elegant restaurants, beachfront resorts and romantic sailing trips.
Things Not to Miss in San Diego

• Visit the San Diego Zoo
• Check out the beaches at La Jolla and Del Mar
• Explore a submarine at the Maritime Museum
When to Go to San Diego
Every month is a good month to visit San Diego, since there really is no off-season. But if you would like to avoid tourist traffic, stick to March through May and September through November when kids don’t have as many vacations. December to February are the rainiest months, stifling beach days but still allowing for plenty of other sightseeing. June through August are the most crowded months to travel to San Diego because school is out and the weather is perfect.
