Caffè Doria

1A Via della Gatta
Rome, 00186, Italy
TEL: 39-06-679-3805

A vestige of a simpler time, Caffè Doria is an classic, sit-down Roman coffee house with an interior marble fountain, dark wooden paneling, and formal portraits hanging on the wall. Located on the first floor of the grand Palazzo Doria Pamphilj (between via del Corso and Via della Gatta), the cafe is a surprisingly quiet spot. The cafe serves a typical selection of coffee, as well as teas, infusions, and tisanes, but in the warmer it also has cold frappes and granitas. To with with the drinks, patrons can order a housemade dessert or tramezzini (crustless sandwiches).

Insider Tip:

Make sure you visit the Pamphilj family collection on the upper floors, featuring paintings by Velasquez, Caravaggio, Carracci, and others.
