Situated between Via Condotti and Via Borgogna, the Hotel d’Inghilterra originally served as a guesthouse for the Torlonia princes during the 17th century. Evidence of its royal past remains in the 88 guestrooms and suites, which are furnished with marble floors, mahogany chests, Chinese porcelain, and large Baroque mirrors. A former haunt of British poets Byron, Keats, and Shelly, the hotel also pays homage to these literary icons with a traditional British pub serving fine ales and decorated with prints of English country life. The hotel’s restaurant, Café Romano, serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine from chef Antonio Vitale.
