One of Rome’s premier destinations for bargain hunting, MAS (Magazzino allo Statuto) is a five-story shop on the north side of Piazza Vittorio. The first two floors feature an eclectic variety of cookware, toys, fabrics, furniture, and cosmetics, while the top three floors are dedicated to clothing, all of which is made in Italy. The shop also houses a florist and an extensive collection of jewelry, including thousands of gold and silver pieces. Sales are displayed on handwritten signs, but almost all the merchandise is already low-priced; for instance, a pair of silk pajamas may go for just €5.
MAS is one of few Roman stores open on Sunday, making it the ideal remedy for an empty itinerary.
