The Conservatory of Flowers in the Golden Gate Park is beautiful in itself: The manicured lawns and gardens surround this wooden Victorian conservatory that is one of the oldest in the world. It's divided into four sections: aquatic plants, highland tropics, lowland tropics, and potted plants.

Located in the center of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park sits the park's largest body of water, Stow Lake. Complete with an electrically pumped, 110-foot waterfall, the lake surrounds Strawberry Hill Island, from which much of the western portion of San Francisco can be seen.
Although its collection is a tad out of balance (strong on New Guinea art, historical American paintings, and Anatolian kilims; light on anything contemporary) and critics carp that the current director opts for style instead of substance, this museum itself is definitely an eyeful.
