The rooftop of the six-story Algodon Mansion, overlooking the posh Recoleta neighborhood’s French-colonial buildings, is the perfect spot for a sunset tango (arrange a lesson through the hotel). This 1912 Belle Époque gem has just 10 suites, each with cavernous limestone-and-marble bathrooms and ebony floors; most have views of the hotel’s central atrium and its two-story waterfall. The spa offers organic, wine-inspired treatments, a rewarding end to a day spent exploring the colorful cityscape. Its owners-who are also behind the Mendoza-based Algodon Wine Estates-spared no expense, installing grand pianos in several guest rooms, Italian calacatta marble bathrooms, and ebony wood floors. At the restaurant, Chez Nous, with its fireplace and gold-leafed ceiling, chef Antonio Soriano serves a seasonal menu of dishes such as grass-fed lamb chops with Andean potatoes or Patagonian black sea bass with black-olive gnocchi.

Room to Book:

The Ambassadeur Suite on the first floor is the most spacious, plus the terrace is set among the lavender blooms of the surrounding jacaranda trees—a perfect place to enjoy a fresh scone from the in-house pastry chef at Chez Nous.

Insider Tip:

Book a private tango lesson or the spa’s new Buenos Aires massage—both activities will take place on your private terrace.
