Former waitresses and current friends Peneloppe Lachapelle and Lucie Nadeau have taken their restaurant-industry insider knowledge and opened Nina Pizza Napolitaine. Set on a corner in the Sainte-Roche neighborhood, it's a casual, approachable spot, styled after traditional Napoli pizza joints. The interior has creamy white exposed-brick walls and the central focal point is, of course, the traditional wood-burning pizza oven, which churns out crispy, thin-crust pies at 900-degree heat. The menu is heavy on carbs with freshly made pasta and pizzas topped with oyster mushrooms, shallots, white wine, chives, and velvety mozzarella; or the more unusual rabbit pizza with pistachio paste, sausage, hazelnut, parmesan, and fresh mozzarella.
