Punta Cana
Cap Cana Fishing Lodge
Capa Cana, Dominican Republic
On the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, the Fishing Lodge is part of the 30,000-acre Cap Cana resort. Designed as a sort of mock village, Cap Cana is awash in tropical-colored streetscapes and plazas and stone-tile shops; there’s an outdoor amphitheater and even a chapel. As such, the 298 breezy suites and villas are intended to feel like houses—each with a separate living area decked out in custom-made furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private patio or balcony. For those who care to dine out, there’s the Mediterranean-themed Bistro or the buffet-style Salamander Grille. Later, cool off with a drink at the stylish Bistrot Bar or Mansito Bar & Lounge. Three pools and a large lagoon at the center of the resort offer another kind of cool comfort, but the scene stealer is the sugar-sand beach just next door.
Room to Book:
Request Room 1005 for the most picturesque sunset views, plus a large private pool that overlooks the nearby marina.
Insider Tip:
Rent a car to access the wider resort area. The most popular are electric and available via the hotel’s concierge or at a depot next the marina.
