Race Point Lighthouse
North Truro, MA, 02652, United States
On the "knuckles" of what looks like the curled arm of Cape Cod is the Race Point Lighthouse, established in 1816. The 1840's white Keeper's House with a red shingle roof offers three bedrooms for up to 11 people; lace curtains, braided rugs, and paintings of seascapes fill the rooms. The Whistle House, remodeled in 2007, is also available for eight guests and is done with wood paneling and an open ceiling and skylight. The beach is pristine and isolated, with beautiful sunset views and frequent sightings of whales, dolphins, seals, and shorebirds.
Room to Book:
The Keeper's House is larger and more accessible but must be shared with the keeper/host.
Insider Tip:
Nearby Race Point beach faces north and so gets sun all day long but it is colder, with stronger surf and undertow.
