Graduating at the top of her class from the Culinary Institute of America, chef Deborah Bicknese opened this unique Spanish tapas place in Prospect Heights to the delight of many. A New York magazine Critics’ Pick, the restaurant impresses as much with its iron chandeliers, blood-red walls, and gargoyle statues as with the meat, fish, and vegetable tapas dishes like creamy blue cheese polenta, pan-roasted pork tenderloin, and Moroccan-spiced salmon salad. Loud music and a socially progressive clientele give the place an additional edge. Outdoor seating is also available.
