Potts Point
Aperitif
Sydney, New South Wales, 2011, Australia
If it’s after midnight in Sydney you can often be left wondering where to eat. This wine bar near Kings Cross keeps the kitchen open until the wee hours, and the French-influenced food works beautifully with sommelier Charles Leong’s clever wine list with its strong emphasis on Italian and French aperitifs (skip the usual Campari or Lillet and go for an anise-flavored pastis instead). On nice nights the outdoor tables under the fig tree are simply divine.
