Wondering what to do in Portland? Visitors may want to time a trip to coincide with one of the city’s many festivals, including the Portland Rose Festival, Oregon Brewers Festival, MusicfestNW, Time-Based Art Festival, or the Pedalpalooza bike festival. Those who want to get outside will swoon over the hiking trails in Forest Park, or strolling the International Rose Test Garden, while city mice will be happy to spend hours in Portland’s many coffee shops, (Stumptown! Heart! Water Ave!) or browsing the rare books room at the massive Powell’s City of Books.

A visit to Portland is an absolute must for lovers of the arts. The Portland Art Museum displays works by international masters, and any one of the several arts districts showcase cutting-edge galleries. Beyond the culture, there’s the beer: With dozens of local breweries, you’ll never run out things to do, or beers to try. At Distillery Row and Base Camp Brewing Company you can sample unique spirits and microbrews, and mingle with the locals.
