Thirst

315 S.W. Montgomery St.
Ste. 340
Portland, OR, 97201, United States
TEL: (503) 295-2747

This wine bar and bistro resides near the Willamette River’s western shore, and has expanded since 2006 to include a 125-seat, river-facing patio, dining room with mauve walls and wine-related paintings, the private River Room, and a wine tasting bar called The Cellar. Chef Leslie Palmer sources seasonal Pacific Northwest ingredients to produce comfort foods like shepherd’s pie with ground beef and bacon, duck confit with tomato bread pudding and Port wine reduction, and a build-your-owner-burger with mix-and-match patties and toppings. Co-owner Gary Kneski oversees the wine program, which focuses on Northwest vineyards; flights are available in the bistro and tasting rooms.

Insider Tip:

Thirst is in the same shopping center as Waterfront Bicycle Rental, so rent a bike and tour Rose City before or after a meal. Just be aware of BUI: Biking Under the Influence.
