Jeana Edelman and David Yudkin started building their pizza-fueled empire in 1984 and now have five pizzerias throughout the city, including this glass-fronted Southeast Portland branch with giant lipstick kisses on the windows. Gas ovens yield hearty pizzas with unusual toppings that fall into four categories: cheese + pep, meat, veggie, and vegan. Popular pies include the Omnivore Bliss with three types of meat, three types of vegetables, and chopped garlic; and the breakfast-inspired Thursday special with bacon, potato, and cheddar cheese. Hot Lips also carries a line of signature sodas in flavors like black raspberry, pear, and cranberry.
