Portland Institute for Contemporary Art resides in the trendy Pearl District and presents this 10-day festival that dates to 2003 and celebrates the global performing arts community. Actors, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, and more all descend on Portland. In 2006, PICA founder Kristy Edmunds relocated to Australia and handed the reins to guest artistic directors like Mark Russell and Cathy Edwards, who recruited esteemed artists, such as musicians Antony & the Johnsons and filmmaker Marina Abramovic, to present at TBA.
