This weekly happening benefits charity and is broadcast over airwaves in Oregon and southwestern Washington courtesy of the Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) system. On Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., performers congregate at Alberta Rose Theatre in Northeast Portland to share everything from comedy to music, even improv. Live Wire supports a standing cast and visiting performers, including New Yorker staff writer Susan Orlean, a band called the folk band Parson Red Heads, and stand-up comic Ron Funches.
